What ages and grades do you tutor?
Mostly grades 7 to 12, plus first year college students in introductory math and science courses.
Which courses do you tutor?
AP Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Biology, Honors Biology, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C (Mechanics and E&M), Honors Physics, AP Environmental Science, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Statistics, and Multivariable Calculus. Regular (college prep) versions of these courses too.
Are lessons online only?
Yes. All lessons are live, one on one, over video with a shared whiteboard. That lets us match tutors by course instead of by who lives nearby.
Is the trial free?
Yes. The 30 minute trial session is free and there is nothing to pay to book it.
How does the trial session work?
It is a 30 minute session with your tutor on real class material, so you can see how they teach. Afterwards we talk with you about a plan.
What does the support team do?
While the tutor teaches, our support team sends weekly worksheets, marks them, and writes a score report: score by topic, what the work shows, every lost mark grouped by its cause, and how to fix it. Then a short retest on the weak spots, with a worked answer key for parents.
How often are worksheets sent?
Every week, and whenever a student asks for more practice, for example before a unit test.
How long is each lesson?
Most lessons are 60 minutes. Some younger students do better with shorter sessions. Your tutor will suggest what fits.
Can we keep the same tutor all year?
Yes. That is how we prefer to work. If the fit is ever wrong, tell us and we will find a different tutor.
Do you follow the school's curriculum?
Yes. Tutors work from your class syllabus, homework, and test dates. For AP courses, they also follow the College Board Course and Exam Description.
Do you help with SAT and ACT math?
Yes, especially for students already working with us in a math course. Much of SAT and ACT math is Algebra 1 and Algebra 2.
Which time zones do you cover?
All US time zones. Weekday evenings and weekends are the most popular times.
